The article goes back over the lands of France given up to the prince of Monaco in 1642, in accordance with the Treaty of Peronne, namely : the dukedom of Valentinois in the Dauphiné, the marquisate of Baux and the seigneury of Saint-Rémy, in Provence, the Carladez (or Carladès) county in Haute-Auvergne and for a part, in the Rouergue, as well as the sub-fiefs of Calvinet and Buis baronies. Called up for serving in the armed forces in 1798 at the age of 20, the young Honoré Grimaldi served in the French cavalery regiment, under the Republic of Barras. He was involved in military campaigns (in Belgium, Holland, Bavaria, where he distinguished in Hohenlinden), and became officer prior joining the General Grouchy’s service as a "aide de camp". Born in Spa, in Belgium, Léon Jehin studied at the conservatories of Liège and Brussels. After an experience in Anvers, Aix-les Bains and Covent Garden, he became in 1889, the conductor of the Opera of Monte-Carlo, succeeding Athur Steck. High ranking musical technician, he directed this orchestra until his death in 1928. (full text in French)

In the 18th and 19th centuries, the need to protect from contagious diseases which wreaked havoc, and the necessity to keep and develop the commercial traffic in the Mediterranean sea, led to set up a health administrative network. People infected from Levant, Barbary and other countries were sent to Toulon and mainly Marseille. This article studies the practices of the Monegasque health administration at that time, through the correspondence between the health office of Marseille and the Monaco health specialists. The monetary crisis occured from the First World War to 1926. The inflation in France caused the increase of number of paper currency issuance. Facing the same problems, the princely government decided to issue some « currency vouchers ». This decision led to the creation and the management of this paper currency until 1926.
